  • Led the Enterprise Analytics department (consisting of 3 senior BI analysts specializing in data analysis, business planning & scenario planning) and served as the data steward for the company’s data warehouse.
  • Managed the project team that built the company’s business intelligence dashboard system using SQL, Python, Microsoft Power BI and AWS. Created the data model design and overall data architecture for the BI system.

  • Monitored the HIERS’ $10.5 billion investment portfolio to ensure compliance with the Fund’s investment and risk management policy guidelines.
  • At the request of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, created a comprehensive financial model to predict the State of Hawaii Employees Retirement System’s (HIERS) cash inflows and outflows over the coming decade.
  • Conducted in-person due diligence interviews with over 200 institutional investment managers including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, and Bridgewater Associates.
  • Systematically rebalanced the HIERS’ investment portfolio and selectively liquidated investments to meet operational cash flow needs and pensioner payment obligations during periods of extreme financial market distress.
  • Co-authored a report with the Chief Investment Officer that analyzed several dozen private equity requests for information (RFI) responses and justified increasing the pension fund’s private equity allocation by $250 million.

Combustible Cigarette KPI Dashboard System

  • Led the project team that designed, built, deployed and maintained the Company’s first integrated business intelligence and KPI dashboard system using Microsoft Power BI Premium and AWS.
  • Created and delivered monthly stakeholder reports throughout the project to track progress against the timeline and budget.
  • Instructed the project team members in business requirements gathering, gap analysis, KPI determination, data modeling, data engineering and dashboard design.

SQL Database for Graduate Student Admissions

  • The new system was used by the College for internal and external accreditation reporting for 15+ years.
